aaahhh the youth of today!

Okay, I know that when you're sms-ing you may want to cut down on the letters you use because there's a limited field. I personally still right out each word but that's just me.

However, when commenting on a blog, why on earth do you feel the need to abbreviate words.
Or is it just that you can't spell?

"hmmm just make it bigger n hollow add a couple of strings n u have a new hat"

Do they honestly not know how stupid they now look?

Just wondering

I refuse to shorten words in texts. I am not a 14 year old girl. My dignity is worth the extra 20 cents it costs if it rolls over into another message.

ah DV, not only do they not understand that they look like cretins, they look even more like cretins because they don't know they look like cretins.

yeah!

Unfortunately it is a modern teenage cool/rebellious language thingo. There is not much you can do about it, unless it is directly in your vicinity and you have the power of the social circle. Since it is behaviour designed to fit into a particular social set (young techno savvy things), a social group stating that it is not cool will fix it, or make them go away.

I dread the shock they are going to get when entering the workplace to discover that this is not appropriate and will affect the opinion of hte people who have the power to hire them or give them a raise.
