Lost: One cordless home phone (with dead battery) last seen in the hands of a certain 18mth old..... Update: phone found cunningly hidden 2nd drawer down in the pantry...clever little so-and-so
Or look for something completely different. A dedicated search usually turns up the last thing you'd given up looking for.
The other method involves getting broken into. The thieves found the buckles that I couldn't find just a week earlier. Mind you, this method requires the loss of valuable items.
So... phones with cords still have some use these days - toddlers will have to work really hard to hide one of those.
Could this be the same little so-and-so who changed the knobs on our washing machine so the cycle went for an hour and a half on warmish water? Or perhaps the same little so-and-so who moved all the carefully placed rocks residing in our "water feature minus water" to the back yard? hmmm... me thinks its possible...

tee heee. He's so cute, how could he do such a thing,.....
Best way to find it is to replace it, then it will turn up.
