I like that the word and concept of Schadenfreude exists.
I really hate walking behind slow people and end up being rude to them
According to the tax office, Torbenspang doesn't exist. They've since acknowledged his existence.
My local library is a really annoying place. It's hard to get into with a pram and there are a couple of extremely surly women working there.
It's okay to disagree with people as long as you acknowledge their right to believe whatever the hell they want.
Stick 6 babies together in a room together and they will all try to crawl over each other.
Optus sales people should try and sigh less on the phone.
It's fathers day soon and man do the shops want you to know it.
I really shouldn't watch the news anymore. It's too depressing.
My friends really are quite clever.
Most people I know annoy me sometimes. Some more than others and some less than others.
I probably annoy people as well. I'm a lot more comfortable with that fact as I get older.
I really should try and be more social. I used to be so good at it.
Aaahh that feels better.

I've got a day off.
Yep a day I which I don't have to go the salt mines or entertain an increasingly demanding 8mth old. yay for me.
What I do have to do today is;
sleep (tick)
eat (tick)
muck about on the internet (tick)
read some trashy mags (tick, tick and tick)
Yep, not even halfway through the day and I've accomplished everything I set out to do.
Hmmm might take a nap to celebrate.

Is it wrong..
...to want to 'key' the car that's been parked in front of our driveway since this morning. I know it's actually not causing a problem yet and won't until MrNw gets home with our car but it bugs me that someone thinks it's acceptable to park in front of someones driveway all day.

It's the little things
It really is the little things in life that make it all worth while. It's the nice woman on the street stopping me and tucking the tag back in on my shirt. OIt's the guy who held open the door as I was struggling to get in the library. It's the person who steps aside as you wander down the street and say excuse me to get past. It's the fact that I say excuse me to try and get past someone. It's the woman in the park who moved away from my table at the park because she was smoking.
These are some of the nice things that make my day.

the nicest smells
The best thing about going to work this morning was walking along the road and you get the waft of the jasmine plant that grows all over the wall of a building and is just starting to flower and then 2 steps later, you get the delicious smell of baking bread courtesy of the bakery around the corner.
(That was a really long sentence!)
It makes it almost pleasant to be awake before the sparrow has even contemplated his first fart of the day.

aaahhh the youth of today!
Okay, I know that when you're sms-ing you may want to cut down on the letters you use because there's a limited field. I personally still right out each word but that's just me.
However, when commenting on a blog, why on earth do you feel the need to abbreviate words.
Or is it just that you can't spell?
"hmmm just make it bigger n hollow add a couple of strings n u have a new hat"
Do they honestly not know how stupid they now look?
Just wondering

question
Does this "all the crazies should come talk to me" sign, make my ass look fat?
Yesterday I went to my local Woolies and not one but two nutters talked to me. We had the random old Italian woman who told me all about her life. She was married but her husband died and she doesn't want to marry again. lives in liverpool, has a daughter who has children one of which either takes drugs or sells drugs or something about drugs and it was a lot harder to give birth when she did it....."
Of course my evil son behaved himself. The one time I want him to cry, he refuses to. I was trying to think of a way I could poke him without her noticing, so I could claim I had to go.
I eventually made my escape and finished shopping and made my way to the checkout. (It takes longer to shop when you're avoiding crazy Italian ladies)
The man behind me decided to tell me all about what he bought and "ooh he didn't realise I had another bag and he should've asked because then he would've stayed in the other line and isn't a nice day today and he likes chips..."
AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!

I should have waited
I left work on the dot of three today in the hope that I would pick Torbenspang up from daycare and make it home before the big storm hit
Yeah, i should have waited.
It hailed.
It rained.
It stopped doing both as I (a very very wet bedraggled creature with a pram) turned onto my street.
The weather is now fine.
All I can say is
D'OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Note to self.
When sitting at the computer munching on Turkish delight, when finished don't then turn the container over and scatter icing sugar everywhere.
Oh and by some buttons for your shirt.
That's all, you may go now.

bookeyness
I'm a sucker for these things. This one's from TOA
1. One book you have read more than once:
I read most of my books over and over and over and over (you get the idea) again. The one I've just finished re-reading is Janet Evanovich "Two for The Dough". I'd bought and had read the new one (12 something) and was in the mood for another of hers and it was closest to hand. I do tend to reread series.
2. One book you would want on a desert island:
Any of Terry Pratchetts books. They may be small but I can read them a few times in a row without getting too bored. That and they amuse me.
3. One book that made you laugh:
Ooohh, so hard. Not strictly a book but does make laugh out loud is Dennis Leary's "No Cure for Cancer" I still chuckle when I think of it.
4. One book that made you cry:
Oh most books these days. Particularly "Bald in the Land of Big Hair" by Joni Rodgers. It's a biography of her living in Dallas and getting cancer. Funny and sweet and moving and empowering and a little bit sad. The other major weepy one is the book by Bryce Courtney about his son that has hemophilla "April Fools Day" I'm not allowed to read it in public as it's too embarrassing
5. One book you wish you had written:
Anne of Green Gables. So lovely and sweet and happy
6. One book you wish had never been written:
Oh look I can't actually narrow it down. There are so many books out there that are just painful and horrid and stupid that it's quite hard to pick one. Oooh, I know. Mao Tse Tung's Little Red Book. Mainly because it came to symbolise something so wrong for so many people.
7. One book you are currently reading
"Carter Beats the Devil" by Glen David Gold. A friend loaned it to me and it's good so far.
8. One book you have been meaning to read:
War and Peace. Just so I can say that I have.
9. One Book That Changed Your Life
This one i can't actually do. So many books have changed me in little ways and for odd reasons. A book of real life short stories called "Birth Stories" helped me 'get over' my miscarriage by making me cry a lot. Terry Pratchett "Small Gods" oddly enough helped me coalesce my insane ideas on religion. A lot of chick-lit books helped me understand the way people view situations. The Commonsense Cookery Book, taught me how to cook. "Baby Love" by Robin Barker and "Kid Wrangling" and "Up the Duff" helped me get through pregnancy and the first few weeks of babydom. I really could go on, but I won't

Taken on the weekend as Torby sits in the funky massagey chair.
He's sitting up just like a real child!
