I remember...

This lovely lass talks about her dad dying and has requested stories.
My mum died when I was 11. She had cancer for many many years before that so it wasn't a surprise.
I remember having to help her shower and massage her legs to help bloodflow.
I remember wearing her fake bosom on my head as hat and making her laugh.
I remember her crying because she was frustrated at being unable to do anything.
I remember being given a duckie by a woman who was in a bed next to mum.
I remember her brushing the few hairs she had left.
I remember feeling numb when dad got back from the hospital to tell us she had finally died.
I remember wearing yellow to her cremation.
I remember when I was pregnant with Torby wishing like hell that my mum could have been there to tell me what to expect and to feel and to think and to do.

Miss you mum.

It's not fair that you made me cry during my lunch break. If you even think of apologising for making me weep like the big girl's blouse that I am, I will slap you.
It's okay - I get it.
