walking is good for something right?

Yesterday I walked from home Burwood (plaza) to Strathfield to Burwood to Croydon to other end of Croydon to Burwood (westfields) to home.
My feet were a little bit sore at the end but I had loud fast angry songs on my iPod (thank you System of a Down) and I walked past the most amazingly fragrant frangipani tree.
You really could smell it a few houses away.
I really want a frangipani tree.
I grew up with them in Cairns. They were everywhere. It makes the air smell nice. It's one of the few things I miss about living there.
They make me smile.

just make sure you keep it in a pot because

a) you can take it with you
b) the landlord doesn't chase you down in a decade or two when his brickwork cracks because of the root system ;)

we have two yellows. I had a pink but it died. I need another pink one, they're so pretty!

Fliss, thanks for the offer to break bits off your tree but I would only kill the poor young plant.
I need to buy a biggish one that's already survived a while and will therefore take longer to kill.

Can I offer to do the "guidedog puppy" service for your frange? I'll look after it and you can have it when it's old enough to work - ahem - survive...

Absolutely BT. You teach to not whizz on the carpet and then I'll try not to kill it.
I'll drag Nw to a plant shop on the weekend and deliver it to you.

We had one in Redmyre Road and I regularly had to hack it back to keep it out of the powerlines. Hrothgar's dad took some offcuts from one such pruning session and apparently struck at least one healthy plant. Maybe you could get an offcut from an offcut.
