Rambleyness
Have wasted time at work doing googleymaps of our road trip.
Now I know how to get between home and Dawn's house on Saturday (via dropping Miss Charlie at her sister's house) then how to get from chums house in Glen Waverly (where we're staying after our nerdy warcrack night) to the cafe for brekkie with Dawn, to home again. Everything in between is unmapped and means we may get a wee bit lost.
I also have very little sense of direction in Melbourne, mountains are on the wrong side and the water isn't where it should be. Badly designed I say.
I'm really looking forward to the roadtrip. Will be nice to have MissCharlie's company in the car for extra conversation and to help Nw with driving. Then have lots of alone time and catching up with people and eating and walking and looking and squeeness.
I have a sneaking suspicion that we might miss Torbyboy a bit though. Just a smidge.
Oh and today is haircut day. Hooray for haircut day!

My son, the subtle one.
We had discussed that we needed some lamb kebabs for dinner. We had also discussed that they migth not have any stamps and we would see.
So we arrive at the counter, I pop him up so he can see them and out comes 'six lamb babs and stamps please'.
The nice man laughed, a lot, and gave him his stamps and a kiss.

"I am at peace"
Peacemakers are receptive, good-natured, and supportive. They seek union
with others and the world around them.
How to Get Along with Me
- If you want me to do something, how you ask is important. I especially
don't like expectations or pressure. - I like to listen and to be of service, but don't take advantage of this.
- Listen until I finish speaking, even though I meander a bit.
- Give me time to finish things and make decisions. It's OK to nudge
me gently and nonjudgmentally. - Ask me questions to help me get clear.
- Tell me when you like how I look. I'm not averse to flattery.
- Hug me, show physical affection. It opens me up to my feelings.
- I like a good discussion but not a confrontation.
- Let me know you like what I've done or said.
- Laugh with me and share in my enjoyment of life.
What I Like About Being a NINE
- being nonjudgmental and accepting
- caring for and being concerned about others
- being able to relax and have a good time
- knowing that most people enjoy my company; I'm easy to be around
- my ability to see many different sides of an issue and to be a good
mediator and facilitator - my heightened awareness of sensations, aesthetics, and the here and
now - being able to go with the flow and feel one with the universe
What's Hard About Being a NINE
- being judged and misunderstood for being placid and/or indecisive
- being critical of myself for lacking initiative and discipline
- being too sensitive to criticism; taking every raised eyebrow and twitch of the mouth personally
- being confused about what I really want
- caring too much about what others will think of me
- not being listened to or taken seriously
NINEs as Children Often
- feel ignored and that their wants, opinions, and feelings are unimportant
- tune out a lot, especially when others argue
- are "good" children: deny anger or keep it to themselves
- are supportive, kind, and warm
- are sometimes overly permissive or nondirective

i is techno leet gurl!
Woot!
sleep is for babies.
2am is a hateful time to be awake.
not as bad as 3am, I'll grant you.
but close.
all cold and boring and wrong.
well, would've been okay if I was awake after a raging night out instead of awake again after a nice nap in my warm and toasty bed with the warm and toasty husband next to me and the warma nd toasty cat near my feet.
gah I say!

I is lucky
Got to laugh at MissCharlie and her Lord Nelson/Hero of Waterloo confusion. So similair in so many ways, just not in location of pub :)
Got to catch up with lovely lovely chums and once again be made content by my friends.
Got to watch the excitement as MrH broke his news to people. I do so love to see my friends happy and excited.
Got to fall in love with Sydney again as I walked up Kent St from Wynard to The Rocks. Old little houses and glimpses of the water and the low sliver of a moon. Also when we got icecream and sat on a bench at Circular Quay and marvelled at the purtiness.
Got to be amazed at the adventures people are going on. Wether it's moving o/s to be with a boy, moving house, yachting to another country, announcing a new relationship or a new step in a relationship to people, job interviews and making decisions about where your life is going. All adventurous and all brave and all good.
It was a pretty cool end to a pretty cool day.

Get Some Freaking Perspective!!!
Beating, raping or starving them for instance.
Putting them in childcare doesn't even come close.
No matter what Mem Fox says.
Comparing one to the other is insulting and stupid on so many levels.
Grrrrrrrr!!!

We will soon have a cat feeder.
We have 19 sleeps to go!
Spring has Sprung
That the first day of spring dawned warm and sunny aftter a wet and manky end of winter.
All the jamine I pass on the way to the train station was fragrant and made me extra happy.
My ipod only gave me happy, bouncy tunes to listen to.
My train was pulling into the platform as I got there and there were flowers on my desk when I got in.
All-in-all, it's shaping up to be a delightful day.
